Italy.
What girl doesn’t have the land of pizza,
Prada and dark, mysterious men on her list
of places to go to? Italy is huge, with many
different areas and different attractions in
each area. In the next few weeks we’ll have
a lot at some of the main cities in Northern
Italy.
Venice. Even
if you only have a few days in Italy, Venice
is a must see. The city built on water is
defiantly unique. While it is a little run
down and tired looking, this can add
Venice’s charm, making it a real place,
beyond the Hollywood stereotype. The most
important souvenir to buy in Venice is a
mask – there are lots of mask shops and
street markets to choose from. Another
famous Venice souvenir is glass, it comes in
many forms; beads, ornaments, table wear.
Stand your ground and don’t be pressured
into buying the first thing a stall owner
offers you. Most stalls sell the same
made-in-china tourist designed souvenirs,
but if you look hard enough you can find
some beautiful one of a kind pieces.

Girls Traveling in Venice
There arn’t
any cars in Venice, so when you get sick of
walking take one of the many gondolas to get
a different view of the city. Bartering is
expected and be prepared to pay around 80
euro depending on how many people will be
going for a ride and the type of gondola you
choose.
Expect to get
lost in Venice, so pick up a map as soon as
possible and if you can’t get your bearings
just keep walking through the winding ally
ways. Eventually you’ll come across
something familiar or someone who will be
happy to point you in the right direction.
And it’s often during these unplanned
detours that you stumble across an out of
the way gem. Are there any unexpected places
you think another people would like to know
about, let us know!
